FR. Peninsula est un documentaire sur le surf en Italie, son histoire et son état actuel. Il dépeint le surf italien, l’exploration d’une grande partie du littoral italien et décrit la passion et l’attachement des personnes qui ont fait et font toujours la scène surf italienne.
Il a été entièrement réalisé en 35mm, 16mm, et super8, et contient des images d’archives encore jamais diffusées, provenant de surfeurs pionniers italiens. Selon les mots de Luca Merli “Peninsula est l’histoire d’un voyage, qui a commencé il y a près de 3 ans, à la découverte des racines du surf en Italie, et ce qu’il est aujourd’hui.”
EN. Peninsula is a documentary about surfing in Italy, its history and its present state. It portrays Italian surfing though the exploration of much of the Italian coastline and describes the passion and dedication of the people that made and are still making what is the Italian surf scene nowadays.
It is entirely shot in 35mm, 16mm and super8 film and contains exclusive and unseen archival footage provided by some of the Italian surfing pioneers.
In the words of director and producer Luca Merli: “Peninsula is the tale of a journey, that started more than two years ago, to discover and describe where surfing in Italy came from and what it’s like now”.
