Jonas Gayraud

Growing up on the ‘murette’ (little wall facing the sea) at Anglet, Jonas Gayraud discovered surfing at a very young age. After years of practising and competing, he became a judge on the world circuit. But he eventually chose to devote himself to his second passion, cinema, where he works in cinematography alongside directors such as Toledano, Nakache and Verhoeven. His role on the festival jury gives him the opportunity to bring together these two worlds that inspire him.

Project Title

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
