ABOUT

A pioneering event in this field, the festival highlights the best productions and achievements of the year. Facing the ocean, on the site of the Chambre d’Amour, giant screens allow the public to view all the films in competition for free. The International Surf Film Festival of Anglet will be organized from Wednesday, August 19 to Saturday, August 22, 2026. For 4 days: 2 screening sites, cinema, surfing, a partners’ village, exhibitions and concerts. An international jury, composed of personalities from the world of surfing and image, will announce the winners and award 7 prizes at the closing ceremony.

HISTORY

Created in 2004 by Bruno Delaye, the International Surf Film Festival was built around a strong ambition: to gain recognition and introduce a wider audience to the artistic quality of surf films. Faced with ever-increasing creativity on the part of filmmakers and the obvious lack of visibility of these productions in Europe, surf films deserved an event of their own. Over the past 20 years, the International Surf Film Festival has gradually established itself as a cultural and artistic event in its own right.
